Mr. Wellein has extensive experience in forensic investigations, structural engineering/analysis, and building condition evaluations. He has performed thousands of forensic evaluations of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings which have been subjected to damage from storms, impact, flooding, water intrusion, defective construction, lightning, fire, soil settlement, degradation, malicious damage, microbiological growth, and more.
Mr. Wellein is highly specialized in all types of roofing evaluations ranging from storm damage to installation evaluation, as well as general roof condition surveys. He also has experience in evaluation of new and previously constructed buildings for code-compliance, determining necessary corrections, and design of repairs. Mr. Wellein has on several occasions testified as an expert witness providing reliable expert testimony in legal matters.
In addition to his experience in forensic and structural engineering, Mr. Wellein has a nearly two-decade background in construction. He first began his journey in construction at a young age, working for a family roofing business, while attending grade school and college. By age 18, Mr. Wellein was a foreman running roofing crews on residential and complex commercial projects. In addition to roofing, he has also personally built and renovated several houses/structures from the ground up.
Mr. Wellein has extensive hands-on experience in all types of construction trades including roofing, sheet metal fabrication, gutter fabrication, caulking, insulation, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, cladding, drywall, finishing and trim work, pavers, general contracting, demolition, and more.
